My husband really wanted to like these shoes, but here is what he didn't like: He thought the footbed was too hard and that the toebox was too narrow for his foot.

Teva's sizing puzzles me. I first ordered these sandals in size 9 corresponding to another model of Tevas that I already own in that size. I am now exchanging this model for size 11 because 10-1/2 is too small.

Both closure mechanisms were difficult to operate from the outset. After less than two months of occasional wear, one of them has become impossible to operate - or only operates on one side of the string. Also very tight fitting and hot, even though I ordered my normal size. Definitely not the sandal my years old ones (with many, many miles on them) are.

I bought these shoes for a vacation to to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota and wore them to help me handle portaging from lake to lake. My feet and toes were riddled with callouses and cuts after wearing these shoes to manage just a few half mile hikes (from lake to lake). The shoes would get wet while I was canoeing and then as I hiked on dry land (in wet shoes) the material would rub on my skin and cause irritation or worse. The shoes did provide adequate protection in the water against rocks/sharp objects on the bottom. I did lose my footing only a few times on slick rocks so I would say that the slip resistance is above average. I would also mention that the flys and mosquitoes seemed to be attracted to the open breathing holes on the top of the shoes and I had many bug bites in that area. (The shoe doesn't claim to protect against bug bites but is worth mentioning if you're an outdoors-man) The shoes worked fine for "greenhorn" type adventures but are not well suited for advanced outdoor excursions.

Must be quality control. After one hour of wear my left foot has two raw spots. I wouldn't have worn them out of doors had I suspected. Useless.
