I am a Physical Education teacher and spend a good amount of time outside with my classes during the spring. I just bought this hat, and I love it. It is comfortable, doesn't blow off in the wind and it protects my face, ears, and neck from the sun. The style is also a plus as it goes with much of what I wear. I was extremely pleased to have received it in 1 day as well!

I work outside under the GA sun. This hat is a winner! The spandex/cotton fabric is cool but seems like it will hold up well. The super stiff brim keeps the sun off my neck and face and the sweat band wicks great. It's lightweight; however, the wind will snatch it off your head, evidently.

I bought this for my husband 3 years ago. He wears it almost every day on his treks, rain and sun, and it still looks like new! He loves it! sizing seems spot-on. Head circumference 22.5" and Size Large fits him perfectly.

Perfect fit and look!

I bought this hat in mushroom several years ago. It has gone with me to the jungle of Costa Rica, to the waters of Mexico, Belize and the Marshall Islands. Also to Yellowstone and other travels. The hat will lessen up its shape to your head but I prefer a hat that is flexible as opposed to stiff. As much as I have put this hat through, it still holds up. I only put the con of not breathable only because human heads produce heat and any hat worn will hold in that heat. When that happens, I wear the hat wet. I have washed the hat many times (never putting it in a dryer) and it has not frayed. Of course it has faded a bit, but then again I am in the sun a lot. It easily rolls up in a pack and ready to be worn.

I’m a crossing guard and needed a lightweight, breathable sun hat with a brim I could see past. I love this hat. It has wonderful ventilation for our Texas heat and covers my face, ears and a bit of my neck. I was skeptical about spending more than twenty bucks for a hat, but this was so worth it. I read all the reviews and glad it did. Well made chapeau!

I race motorcycles, which involves a lot of waiting around in the unshaded paddock. The hat is great - keeps the sun off my face and neck, allows the wind to flow through the mesh, and absorbs sweat.

Been walking around Rome in 95 heat and blazing sun for 5 days and it's covered my noggin every step of the way. I could stuff in in my backpack during lunch, pull it back out and it looks and performs the same great way.

Best of the sun hats. Vents keep your head cool; you feel small breezes (a good thing). Brim stays up if sides are folded/pushed/rolled. Brim provides good of face/neck/ear coverage. Neck cinch is detachable for washing. And it's cotton, meaning you can drop it in a creek/puddle and it will cool your head, unlike poly hats. It's the only hat I look for when hiking, travelling, spending time in the sun, etc. Classic OR.

I love this sun hat. The mushroom color is nice. The brim is a perfect size for what I do. It's not too big to get in the way. This hat doesn't have the most sun coverage from all OR sun hats, but it's my personal choice. Ventilation is outstanding. Size adjustment is great. Haven't tried it fly fishing yet, but with the shorter brim, it will certainly be fantastic. OR should make it in both Coyote and Fatigue colors.

Low price in camo version helped decision. I was considering a Tilley and did get one of those also. Very good wicking and ventilation. Will use for canoeing, etc.

My husband who is extremely picky about hats loves this item!!! As a matter of fact he said it was “perfect”! We reside in the south where it gets very hot and this that meets the need for sun protection and coolness! We will be purchasing an extra one if we can get it in another color he likes. Buy it! I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Just as I expected. Wore it out to mow on a hot day and did the trick.

Haven't worn a boonie style hat for real in the military in tropical and desert environments I can say it's my favorite uniform hat. However the issue hats do not breathe very well. Outdoor Research remedies this problem by installing a mesh panel around the circumference of the crown. This lightweight hat blocks the Sun while allowing your cranium to ventilate. Currently a steal in camo at 70% off. Not suitable for uniform wear but fine for all other off-duty adventures.

Fits well, great sun protection. Feels sturdy and very well made.

Very breathable, nice brim, though the material feels like it will soak up water (it is cotton after all). I purchased it as a hot weather sun hat and it is perfect for what I wanted.
