Customer Reviews School Issue Semester (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid)

I bought this shoe in the chocolate nubuck. The color is great; as appeared on-line. The leather upper seemed a bit stiff but the footbed was comfortable. Out of the box the shoes had a terrible odor; the leather upper and rubber outsole gave off a smell that was reminiscent of a zoo. I left them to air out over night, and even took a hair dryer to them the following morning to no avail. They have been returned but unfortunately these were the last in stock for the size I need. This might have been an isolated incident because this is apparently the only review that I know of with this particular comment.

Love these shoes - they do not scuff like smooth leather. Look great for a long time; no polishing!

Look good on my son. True to size. Well made

We ordered the tan suede, shoe that came was much lighter than what it looked like in the picture on the web. I'd send them back, but we're too close to leaving on vacation. Hopefully they'll wear well.

Sad story, this shoe -- beautiful design but very poorly made. Insole is glued in meaning you can't switch it out for a better contour; worse, the sole seems to have been attached to the upper by a preschooler with a glue stick - popped right off of each shoe within a few weeks of purchase. Too bad.

I bought these shoes for my son to wear with his uniforms for school. The look great. He loves the. . HOWEVER, the shoe fell apart at exactly 30 days. The heel seperated from the last. Horribly made. Will not buy again regardless of how good they look.

Sad to report that the second time my son wore this shoe, the sole of the shoe pulled away from the upper. Hoping it is a fluke and not indicative of a change in quality of School Issue shoes. Have always had good luck with them.

My older son has worn this shoe for 5 years as a uniform shoe, and I've never had an issue - wears well, and withstands the daily use of school/playground wear. However, recently, I've been through 3 pairs of this shoe where the sole has separated from the shoe within 1 day to 1 month of wear. I will not order this shoe again (or likely any from School Issue), as it appears there is a manufacturing issue of some sort.

On the second day of school, my son went to these shoes off his feet, only to have the sole come apart from the rest of the shoe. We were already going to return them because they hurt his feet, but this is ridiculous. Terrible quality, obviously.If you do venture to try these, note that they are quite bulky (heavy soled) compared to other bucks or oxfords.
