I have 2 pairs of the Arizona Soft Footbed Suede 36 Narrow, one pair of the Mayari Oiled Leather 36 Regular, and now the Gizeh Oiled Leather 36 Regular. All of them fit perfect. The Soft Footbed made fart noises from the beginning. I prefer the Regular fit.

Great basic shoe that never goes out of style. These truly conform to the shape of your foot.

They are a little hard. Hopefully they will soften up…

Good for wide feet! Not as roomy as the classic (unisex) styles but wide enough that my wide feet fit totally within the sole and these look a little less casual than those as well. Like all Birks, it took a week or so of wearing them around the house to be super comfy but would definitely recommend!

Perfect fit. Molds to foot. Highly recommend. Birks are on trend now too!

These are my second pair of Gizeh's and like the first, they are super comfy pretty much out of the box or within a day. The size is spot on. I'm a 10, these are a 10. The brown oiled leather is just as pictured. The Gizeh style in my opinion is the most flattering and less monk and troll looking on my feet. My only complaint is the price. There are so many knock offs that are SO close to the Birkenstock brand and make, just as nice but the sizing has been off. But it won't be long before I find an equal for less $.

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

I ordered a size 40. I normally wear a size 8 1/2 or 9 and they fit perfect.

Once I figured out how to wear these, not like flip flops with the plastic piece up close, but with it a smidgen away and making sure toes were on the ridges for them, I love these sandals. I tried them first in the pink EVA which is perfect for the pool, and then progressed to leather.

I believe I got burkibuc sent to me instead of oiled leather but these are the second pair of gizeh’s I own and I want a closet full. Great support for my high arch and toe ridge is supportive as well.

I usually wear an 8.5 and the 38 fits me perfectly—the 39 was too big. I’ve owned four pairs of these shoes now—they are always stiff at the beginning but mold to your foot quickly. I’ve been disappointed that mine never seem to last more than 2 years of heavy use. I’ve started using cork sealant and hope that will help!

Size 8-8 1/2 ordered a 38. Perfect fit! It did take a couple of days to break them in, but they are the best shoes I have ever worn. I am on my feet all day, and these are perfect.

I love love love these shoes! The color is perfect...I love that “worn” in look. I get so many compliments on them. They go great with black or brown, pants or shorts. I will be wearing these everyday!

This is my first pair of Birkenstock and I love them! I normally wear a size 11 in women’s, but I read the reviews and ordered a half size down from what I normally wear (10-10.5). Perfect fit!

These are too big! But it was not apparent until after I'd worn them a few times. I work on my feet all day and wanted to give Birkenstocks a try. I like other good arch support shoes like Dansko but I wanted sandals. I read all the reviews and knew what I was facing. At first they were great. I tightened the straps as suggested. The first day: YAY--Happy Feet! However, my elation was short lived... the more I walked on them, the more they "gave in", and it was obvious they were just too big. Tightening the strap any further was not going to work. An expensisve lesson learned. These are my first pair. I will need one size smaller. The good news is that these are wonderful shoes and the support is really good, and if they seem too small at first, at least I know they will "give" after a couple days. It is a real shame that I am stuck with birks that are too big and cannot be returned now, but now I know the deal.

These sandals are amazing. I was having trouble with shoes because I have been developing a bunion and all my shoes are rubbing on outside of foot so these fixed the problem. The best tip I read, was from a previous reviewer, you have to tighten these down on your foot, not wear them like a flip flop.... otherwise the toe strap is very uncomfortable. As soon as you tighten them it's the most comfortable Birkenstock, and my husband even finds them attractive.

Very comfy right away! Leather uppers and cushier sole much better! I normally order a 38 bit 37 fit perfect!

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks. I did a bunch of research prior to buying to make sure I ordered the right size, and what to expect when breaking them in (I’ve been told and read that breaking them in can be a labor of love, but very worth it in the end). I am an 8.5 in heels, usually a 9 in flats, and a 9.5 in most tennis shoes. I have high arches and fairly narrow feet. I order these in a 39 regular and they fit perfectly! The oiled leather is soft against my skin. I will definitely be ordering more Birkenstocks in the future!

This sandal is the perfect mix of comfort and style. While it did take a little bit of getting used to, like others have mentioned, now that this sandal has molded to my foot it is like heaven to wear. I find myself grabbing these to wear just about anywhere and everywhere without even considering if they match my outfit. I have a somewhat wide foot (wider than a B width) and also a high instep and the "regular" width fits just right. As other have mentioned I did have to play around a bit with the buckle adjustment and ended up putting it tighter than I would have though necessary which help keep the plastic toe piece from cutting in. Give these Birks a shot and you won't be sorry.

This is my, what?, fifth pair of Gizehs in the last 15 years? They are hands-down my favorite sandal ever. Maybe favorite shoe ever. I sigh with grateful relief when the weather gets warm enough to slip back into my Gizehs. This is my second pair of the oiled leather I bought this year, deciding to pony up for the (theoretically) longer-lasting leather over the Birko-flor. I don't regret it, but the leather of the upper/thong part, especially on this black pair (not so much on the brown...must be a result of the dying process) is much stiffer than the others and will require a little more breaking in. But since my "new" Birks are now something like 5 or 6 years old, I realize I am making an investment in YEARS of comfortable wear. DO invest in the waterproofing stuff that you brush on the cork to extend the life of your shoes. It makes the cork a little shiny, but makes your Birks last MUCH longer.

I love these sandals! I was looking for a comfortable sandal that I could wear all day when walking around in the summer. The toe thong is a little uncomfortable at first but breaks in fast. I usually wear a 9.5-10 and ended up with the smaller size (9-9.5); the 10-10.5 was too big.

The first time I put these on, I thought, "Oh heck no, these have to go back." They HURTED everywhere, especially in the arch and toe area. I couldn't believe all those positive 5-star reviews about the elusive Birkenstock 'comfort'. So I searched and searched for more reviews on blogs and youtube to expose the Gizeh's comfort deception, but to none available. Time and persistence, they all said, is key to molding a perfect fit. I resisted the initial temptation to return them. I wore them around the house - first day for half an hour, second day for an hour, and so forth. Slowly but surely, the malleable footbed started to take the shape of my feet and the leather became increasingly pliable. After a week of wear, I am happy to report that all these reviews are true! You really do need to wear them for many days or weeks until they conform to you. The straps need to be appropriately tightened so that you cannot easily slide in and out. Give them time; you won't regret it.

Ordered in black. Stylish and extremely comfortable. Toe portion takes a bit of time to get used to having worn only the traditional style of Birkenstock. Ordered size 37 and normally wear size 7.

I bought a new pair for my wife, her old pair must be 12 years old, maybe more. I bought the black leather strap model, it looks great on her feet, fits perfect, and she loves this sandal. Thanks for making me and my wife happy.
