This shoe has a wide toe box even though it is a medium width shoe. Plenty of toe wiggle room. I normally wear a size 7 medium, but always get a size 37 euro size. Maybe not the snazzy style you were looking for, but still stylish. This is my second pair. I have tried the new Dansko styles, under armour thredborne push and running shoes. I used to wear Nike. I literally walk for 12 hours on my shift as I rarely get time to sit. As we all know, feet swell even under the best of controlled climates. I have a very high arch and broke my foot 11.5 years ago and have increased issues finding "comfortable" shoes. I can wear this pair of birkenstocks (with under armour wick away socks) very comfortably with absolutely no pain at the end of my shift! Highly recommend this shoe! Almost forgot, very good nonslip sole. I wash them in the top rack of my dishwasher by themselves and wala, they are sterilized!

Surgeon- worn daily for 3 years and love them. Great support, good traction when it gets wet, comfortable, and easily kicked off. Conversely, they fall off with running and I drilled holes for ventilation around the toes. They also squeak like crazy while walking on most hospital floors, but I stopped caring about that and the nurses appreciate the warning. They feel huge and I size them based on where the arch support hits rather than the length, which seems oddly long. My feet and back don't hurt like they did with Danskos or running shoes. Plus- you can autoclave them!

I have worn worn these to work for the past 2½ years, I am a registered nurse at a busy hospital. I love Birkenstocks, they are very comfortable and durable. My coworkers complain that they are too noisy and squeaky when I walk.

I'm a Registered Nurse, currently in anesthesia school. Previously I worked in intensive care for 3 years, working up to 14 shifts. In that time I wore top end, high-arch support stability running shoes of various brands (Mizuno, Brooks, Saucony) and I also had custom orthotics made. Feet would feel okay for a bit, then I'd get home and my feet were very sore. I had a friend recommend these to me and decided to give them a try. I broke them in a bit before wearing them to the hospital today and I have to say I am impressed. I think this is the first time I have ever come home from the hospital (including my days in nursing school) where my feet haven't been sore. I've literally been looking for footwear like this for years. As many others have commented these shoes run large. I'd say go about 1 size smaller than what you think. I even measured my foot with a tape measurer as recommended by Birki's sizing chart, and it was still a size too big. I had to return them once, but the process couldn't have been smoother with Zappos and I got my next pair 2 days later. I like the fact that you can replace the insoles from Birki's for only $25 and the clogs themselves seem like they'll last a long time. They also appear to be very easy to clean, definite plus for someone like me working in the OR. Finally as others have commented, wear dry-wicking socks when you wear these, your feet will get hot. Wear socks like these and it'll help. Overall I'm very happy with these clogs and would recommend them to anyone who's on their feet for very long hours, especially if you're not walking a lot.

I am on my feet most of my day as a pre-school teacher and have always worn an orthopedic type comfort shoe, but these Birkis are by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I normally wear a 6.5 (U.S.) but had to go with a size smaller for a better fit. I would definitely recommend these and buy them again!

Big Big but comfortable after a cheap fix - I had a friend deliver these to me in Mexico for the rainy season, but although I ordered my regular Birk size, they turned were WAY too big. With no way to return them, I thought putting ordinary shoe inserts in would help. It didn't, because the Birk sole is shaped so different. Then I remembered a large piece of black felt I had. I removed the Birk insole and traced around it then cut out my custom insoles. I lightly rubber-cemented layers of felt together until the shoe fit perfectly when my custom insole was inserted under the birk insole. After wearing for an hour or so, I removed both insoles and checked areas where my custom insole was a bit too wide or long. The solution was incredible. The felt molds to the shape of your foot, like the Birkenstock. If you have one foot that is larger, you can use one less layer or two of felt. It adds additional support and cushioning without being spongy.

Great purchase - I ordered 2 sizes smaller than what I normally wear, and it was a perfect fit. I am a chef, and the shoes mean a great deal. They are super comfortable and extra tough. I recommended them to all my friends and will continue to buy them myself for a long time.

I bought these to wear as a garden clog-wanted something sturdier and more coverage than a croc, more arch support than sloggers. I really wanted to love these but they were HUGE. I have always bought size 40 Birkenstock sandals, but these 40s felt like they were made for shrek. Bummer.

Big and clunky, feel like oversized flip flops and are very stiff on the top side of my mid foot. However, they are ideal for my work, so hopefully they're break in after a few months.

I love Birks and have a pair of Super Birkies that I love. I wanted to try these and was very sad. Based on the Birkenstock sizing guide, they recommended size 40 but I normally wear a snug 39, so I ordered a 39 as well. Both sizes were really loose and sloppy.

I have many pairs of Birkenstock sandles, however these run very wide. I could hardly keep them on my feet while walking.

I work 12 hour shifts and desperate for something comfortable for my wide feet. The fit is true to size and width okay. They are hard soles but you get used to it. I would not purchase again. I wanted to try the Crocs professional but listened to other reviewers and how they became tight with foot swelling. I was afraid to try them. I had a chance to try the Crocs on and they felt like heaven on my feet. I will keep wearing my Birkenstock’s for now as they cost enough. If you are new to Birkenstock’s, keep looking. I love Zappos but because I had to wear them to experience them, I think there is something better out there.

I generally love Birkenstock’s and purchased these for work. I would NOT recommend them to any fellow dentists! They are very comfortable for standing, but not fun for walking at all. The sole is so large and heavy that it’s difficult to feel anything, like a pedal or rheostat, under your foot. I cannot wear these for work.

I paid a lot for a plastic shoe with a nearly flat plastic insert that I would compare to your typical $10 insert from Walgreens. I've spent 15 years working on my feet and have tried it all, and this is low on the functionality spectrum, and high on the price spectrum. I wear a 9.5, and ordered the size 40. Lengthwise they are okay. Widthwise, I don't think they are safe for anyone who has to be quick on their feet. As a waitress I have to avoid fellow coworkers, unattended children, etc, and if I had to back up quick or turn quick I could step right out of these or partially step out of them and trip over them. I also have high arches, and these are not for people with high arches, maybe good if you have flat feet. There is no heel bed on these at all, so there is no support from where the heel ends and the arch begins, which is where people with high arches and plantar fasciitis need support the most. This is not a classic Birkenstock with the insole that you hear about that will mold to your feet and be your foot's best friend. This is a plastic shoe with a plastic insert and very minimal support.

These are horrible! They feel like wooden clogs and the inserts are just as hard. The arch support doesn't hit in the right spot, but the actual shoe fits. so their not the wrong size. I work on my feet 12-14 hours a day on our farm; there is no way these are going to be comfortable for that long. And there is very little traction. That's not going to bode well for sloping wet grass. They slip way too much to stay on my feet when doing every day things even with my thick socks on. I couldn't imagine trying to shovel with these. I bought these when my "Work On The Clock Literide Slip-On" Crocs ran out of my size. Now *those* are some comfortable shoes! I expected a lot more from Birkenstock - I love my other shoes from them. Why are these so horrible?

I have never been in more pain than I was at the end of my shift after wearing these torture shoes. I could barely walk, feet/legs/back were all screaming. 100% not for me.
